They have the stereotypical texture of plum tomatoes but a complex multi-faceted flavour full of sweetness, umami, a great level of fresh acidity, making for a flavour that is long on the palate. A great example of a quality ingredient that has been allowed to shine, and we felt could have a wide variety of uses.”
Coppola Yellow Peeled Plum Tomatoes, sourced from sun-kissed Southern Italy, are crafted with the finest yellow plum varieties. Carefully harvested at peak ripeness (August-September), they’re steam-peeled and packed in their own juice, preserving their vibrant aroma and natural sweetness. Good to know: The Italian name for tomato is pomodoro or golden apple as at first tomatoes used to be yellow and not red.
